More time please

Anyone who thinks there are too many hours in the day is welcome to give me a few.
I started my new job this week and suppose I am beginning to settle in. It’s nice to have the same hours every day, because I am home by 5:30pm rather than 10:30pm. Except now I get up earlier and spend more time driving to and from work. I also continue to work weekends at my old job to make extra money for the baby and house (and because no one else wanted my hours).
Earlier I calculated that with my new schedule I spend 28% of my time sleeping, 6% getting ready for work every morning, 6% driving to or from work, 34% actually getting paid to work, and only 23% of my time actually awake with Laura. The other 3% of my time is wasted on mandatory lunch breaks.
It is pretty nice that we now make enough to buy the house we wanted, but it comes from a pretty expensive trade-off. Before I only worked 42 – 48 hours a week and was paid the entire time I was gone (minus driving). Now I am gone 71 hours a week but only get paid for 57.
In my last post I said I will update my goals for the next two years. The previous ones involved getting a job, buying a house, and starting a family… all of which are well on their way. The new ones will include finding a practical way to earn money over my lunch breaks, starting a home brewery, and finding a job that will give me additional free time.
