Free domain names

I just registered ThatSmith.net with Microsoft. With their deal they do the hosting and give you free e-mail you access through Hotmail; and you never pay a penny unless you to transfer the domain elsewhere.
My other sites are hosted by me. Once the 60 day transfer lock is up at Microsoft, I’m going to pay the transfer fee ($6) and get 2 years of ThatSmith.net through GoDaddy. That beats paying $14 to register plus $8 to renew it every year.
