No more school!

… Well after tomorrow at least. Then its only for a couple weeks and I’ll be busy studying for my securities exams anyway so I suppose its not all that exciting. But I did finish my big huge 8 page paper that was due by the end of the day. It ended up being about 12 pages. I was trying to work on it all week but Laura didn’t work much this week so I had to schedule my working on it around giving her attention and feeding her and so on so yeah. I ended up staying up all night last night just so I could work on it while she was sleeping. Its worth enough of my grade for the class that if I didn’t do it well enough I would fail the class which would mean no graduating in December. That would be poop. But anyhow.. Now that I’m done with that I have just one final tomorrow in my management class and I’ll be done for a while.

So Laura’s at work right now and will probably be home anytime. I’m not sure what we’re doing tonight, but tomorrow she’s going to be in Wichita for her shower down there and I guess Todd’s coming to hang out here tomorrow while she’s gone. Then when she gets back Saturday we’re going to Overland Park to do laundry and to hang out with my uncle who’s in town from Florida. She hasn’t met him yet. I believe Stacie (my sister) is coming back with us to stay Saturday night which means my parents will probably be down Sunday.

I’ve been training for my job the past few days and will be doing a lot of it on my own now that I’m gonna be done with class and I’ll be heading in the next couple Tuesdays and Thursdays until I start for good on the 15th or 16th. It’s a little different than I had expected because while I work under Waddell & Reed and I’m insured through them incase I screw something up, I will pretty much own and control my own financial advising practice. They have certain levels of fees I have to hit every month, but other than that I’m free to charge my own amount and work my own hours and whatnot.

The only thing is I have to find clients on my own so I’m taking names and addresses of anyone who might be in need of an advisor. If you’re wanting to save to pay for college for someone, a wedding, a house, a car, retirement, any of those that’s what I do (investments too). The difference between Waddell & Reed and a place like Edward Jones is we do the comprehensive planning rather than and you a piece of paper saying here do this… I’ll be able to explain it better as I get further in the training.

I’m going to try to catch up on reading my newspapers before Laura gets home. Here’s a picture of her grandpa’s birthday cake I’ve been meaning to post.

Oh and if you talk to my parents, tomorrow is their anniversary.
