Votin’ fer change – An open reminder of where we stand
By admin • Nov 7th, 2006 • Category: UncategorizedI came across this political cartoon this morning and was reminded of a few things in addition to the utter disgust I have for this artist and the countless others that share his utopian image.
First off I am sick of everyone portraying the younger (and more educated) generation of voters as being a group of no-class, ignorant tree-huggers. True, several of my peers are entirely detached from the real world, but these ignorant, myspace-worshiping friends of mine aren’t even registered to vote so there is no need to worry about their ultra-liberal-hippie nonsense.
The members of the so called un-biased media need wake up and do their job rather than feeding everyone the crap that is handed to them about Mrs. Brad Pitt Tomb Raider or whatever the hell her name is. Tell us facts god damn it!
But my real point is, look at this image. The very things that make our nation great, our economy, our security and such have no connection with who is in control of the White House.
The stock market is controlled by the people and has nothing to do with democrats or republicans.
Our economy is commanded by a brilliant man named Ben Bernanke and his buddies on the FED, which also has nothing to do with our monkey-of-a-man President.
And seriously, there were no recent terror attacks on US soil until Bush was in office. His first year. Sure the last one was five years ago (which some argue the government allowed), but none occurred for almost 8 years prior.
If you are voting for change then vote to change what matters.
Vote to change the income inequality between the rich and the middle income Americans, a gap which has widened since 2001.
Vote to change the insufficient tax system.
Vote to change the inadequate Social Security and Medicare systems.
And most of all – vote to change corrupt, do-nothing politicians into politicians that actually care for their people rather than just their parties.
