Success! (Saving on my internet bill.)

I just got off the phone with Cox and will now be saving 50% on our monthly internet bill for the next 3 months.

I called yesterday to cancel our TV and was offered various incentives to stay, which made me want to “cancel” the internet as well. The friendly customer service rep told me about their “other” high-speed internet package that costs 50% less because it only offers 1.5Mb downstream and 768Kb upstream rather than the 7Mb down and 1.5Mb upstream connection we have right now.

The slower package is equivalent to what we had in Emporia with CableOne so we will probably switch to that in 3 months, As for now he offered 50% off for the next three months so I accepted that. Brilliant! That gives us another $20 a month to do with what we will.
