One year in Wichita

By • Dec 31st, 2007 • Category: Uncategorized

When the years start going by faster I think that’s a sign that you’re getting old, but least I don’t have gray hair yet like a certain someone I’m married to.

It’s new years again which means we’re probably going to go to bed early since we have nothing better to do, and have to get up early to see family. It also means we have lived in Wichita for one full year.

I already shared my thoughts on 2007 the end of last month, but figured I would highlight the major changes that occurred since moving for those of you who didn’t bother to read the last post. I know who did.

In 2007….

  • I had three employers, each of which paid slightly more than the last.
  • Laura was an apartment wife most of the year, then became a housewife.
  • We started out with only one car, but now have two.
  • We still have the ferrets and got a kitten in April that we gave away in December.
  • We found out we’re having a baby boy (named Kaden) in April 2008.
  • We bought a house.
  • We paid off the wedding rings, dresses, and most of our student loans and credit card debt.
  • I began brewing my own beer.
  • We purchased 6 domain names which gives us a total of 14.
  • We only got to visit my side of the family four times.

Next year I hope to work less and spend more time with family.

If you haven’t seen the baby site yet then check out Baby Smith. Also be sure to see BEERdad for pictures of my espresso stout, Open Mike Music for karaoke in Kansas City and Wichita, and Jane’s Daycare for child care in Overland Park.

Happy New Year!
