That Smith

I am finally leaving my weekend job. My last day here is tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to it because it means I will soon have my first day off in a long, long time.

I have worked weekends for as long as I can remember, and have worked 7 days a week since I started my new job the beginning of October. My last real day off that I wasn’t spent interviewing or driving all day was September 5th, and even that day we looked at houses the whole time.

Laura is looking forward to having me back Saturday nights, and I’m excited to be in our house first time ever during the day.

We will be in Overland Park next weekend for a baby shower, then the one after that we’re having people stay at our house and they’re throwing a shower, so our first full weekend together since last January won’t be until the 29th.

Not that anyone cares, but I’m thinking I will celebrate with some of my homebrew amber ale and maybe by painting our basement and buying a lawn mower. If all goes well, Laura and I should have four full weekends to ourselves before Kaden gets here.
