Please ship my dining room table, and try not to break it for the sixth time
By Chad • Jan 13th, 2008 • Category: Advice, Daily LifeThe shipping notification for the fourth glass top came on the 21st (it shipped out on the 20th, FedEx #704104660113342) and said we would finally have a glass top on the 26th.
The tracking said the barcode label was unreadable and had to be replaced, which should have been a good sign that something already went wrong.
Then, like we were becoming accustomed to, we received a shipping exception again on the 26th. This one at least made it to Wichita before saying: Damaged, handling per shipper instructions / Unable to deliver shipment, return to shipper – Damaged in transit.
Of course, by this time we also learned that FedEx does a poor job of updating their online tracking. We planned on shopping most of the day since it was the day after Christmas and there were some awesome sales going on, but ended up sitting at home since it was almost 3pm before we were notified of the damage. The FedEx site says it happened at 10am.
Once again, I called CSN Stores so they could quickly get a replacement ordered. This one would be glass top #5. The order confirmation came about 30 minutes later and, as with all the other orders, I received another unexpected delay message the next day.

I’m sure by this point, most of the reps know me by name. They have also stopped addressing the e-mails to me and quit using their names. I called them about the delay because I was not happy about having to wait another two weeks to be sent a glass top that would probably break again anyway. I even joked with them last time about sending two since one will probably break.
